• Question: Is there a chance that Tim Peake could be sucked into a black hole in space? And if so, what would happen to him?

      Hi Swetha Kalaimani,

      Fortunately there are no black holes near the ISS so in this regard Tim is safe!

      If he was to be sucked into a black hole unfortunately I don’t think he would last very long….

      Simon: Swetha! Beth said it! Of course the really fascinating thing about black holes is although we imagine that anything that crosses the event horizon will be ripped apart by the high gravitational forces, because no light (and therefore no information) escapes the event horizon of a black hole, we dont actually know for sure what happens beyond it!
