• Question: how long does it take for the anastronaut to reach the space station

      Simon: Hi Commandopro456! Good question! Although the ISS is orbiting above the Earth at around 450km and travelling at about 7.66 kilometres per second (about 5times faster than a speeding bullet!), you maybe surprised that it doesnt take that long to get into space or reach the space station.

      Getting into Low Earth Orbit (LEO) typically takes the astronauts about 11minutes in a Soyuz. Getting to the ISS in a Soyuz takes about 6hrs!

      Hey Commandopro456!

      Its much quicker than getting to Concordia! It took me almost 6 days, I would have prefered 6 hours 😉
