• Question: I can see you have worked in lots of different countries and done lots of really cool enginering. However how do their space programs and enginering level up to UK?

      Simon:

Hi Jake! Sorry for the late response. Good question! When I was your age, working in Space in the UK was much more limited than today. But the UK space industry is growing stronger and stronger every year. We now have world leading companies in the UK like Airbus, SSTL, ClydeSpace etc. I think that fact there is now a UK Space Agency and an ESA astronaut from the UK is a good indication that things are on the up. So if you want to work in the space field in the future I would say the future is bright!

One caveat to what I have said:

Even if you decide to stay and work in the UK for the whole of your professional life I would highly recommend that you spend at least a part of your studies or working life abroad. It will really broaden your mind and help you to appreciate your life in the UK.
